The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association, a not-for-profit association based in New York hosted its grand gala event during the AGTA Tucson Gem Show on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Marriott University Park Hotel.
IDCA honored Dr. Mahendra Singhji Daga, President of White Color Gems was awarded the “Pioneer Award”. Dr. Daga is a great philanthropist and an active social worker. He is the President of the Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the apex level representative body of industry, trade, exports and mining in the State of Rajasthan which is widely recognized as an eminent institution championing the cause of businesses and industries. He has been felicitated on numerous occasions and received accolades for his work. Notable amongst them are receiving the “Citizen Award” from Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, President of India. Governor of New Jersey honored him for his services to human kind.
The Awards function was opened by Mr. Haridas Kotahwala, Vice President and Chairperson of the Tucson Show Committee. Mr Kotahwala has had a long association with the organization. He is one of the founding members of IDCA and is also a four time Past President of IDCA.
The awards presentation was followed by dinner and cultural entertainment.
